Course description

For Students Entering Year 1
The IBDP Chem Prep course is suitable for students that are starting IB Chemistry in Year 11 of their studies, and is aimed for high-performing students who are looking to get a head start on the demanding content of IB Chemistry. The course will focus on four highly-demanding sections of the IB Chemistry syllabus: 1. Stoichiometry, 2. Thermochemistry, 3. Acids and Bases, and 4. Organic Chemistry, covering important components of the two organizing concepts in Chemistry: Structure and Reactivity. Also, required skills for properly formulating an answer to a Paper 2 and a Paper 1B question will be cultivated. In order to follow this course effectively, students are expected to have a solid (10th grade level) background in Stoichiometry, Electronic Structure (Atoms and Molecules), Acids and Bases, and Organic Chemistry.

If enrollment in a course fails to reach the minimum number of participants required for the class to run, the class will be cancelled and tuition will be reimbursed.
