Mavridou, Amalia, Elementary School Permanent Substitute Teacher

Amalia Mavridou is a Track & Field coach and physical education professional with broad experience in coaching, teaching, and program coordination. She holds a BSc in Physical Education and Sport Science from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with specializations in Track & Field Jumps and Taekwondo, and has also spent a semester abroad at the University of Burgundy, France.
She currently serves as a Track & Field Coach at G.A.S. Holargou where she designs and implements training programs for young learners and candidates preparing for university entrance examinations and academy physical tests. She has also contributed to national and international youth sport initiatives, such as the World Kids’ Athletics Day at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
She has gained valuable teaching experience through internships in secondary and primary education, where she designed and taught physical education programs and promoted fitness and health among students. These experiences strengthened her pedagogical approach and her ability to adapt training to different age groups and educational settings.
Amalia’s professional formation was strongly influenced by her internship with the Hellenic Olympic Committee, where she worked as a Track & Field instructor within the Kids Love Sports program at the Panathenaic Stadium. In addition, she collaborated with the International Organization for Migration and the Danish Refugee Council to deliver inclusive physical education and recreational activities in refugee accommodation centers, fostering teamwork and social integration among children and youth from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Amalia also brings experience from international and local schools, activity camps, and cultural initiatives such as the Pharos Short Film Festival, where she contributed as a production assistant. Fluent in Greek, English (C2) and certified as a Level A Track & Field Coaching License, she combines scientific expertise, practical training, and intercultural experience to promote athletic development, inclusion, and lifelong engagement in sport.
