Conner, Meaghan, Faculty, 1st Grade

Meaghan Conner is from Nova Scotia, Canada, and brings over 20 years of teaching experience from schools across four continents. She holds a Master of Education from the University of Ottawa, specializing in Society, Culture, and Literacies, where she received the Faculty Prize for academic excellence, as well as a Bachelor of Education (Primary/Junior) from the University of Ottawa and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a minor in German from Dalhousie University. She also holds an additional qualification in Special Education (University of Toronto), a TEFL Certificate (Saint Mary’s University), training in Assessment & Evaluation Strategies and Instructional Design (Mount Royal University), and has completed the Intro to Peace & Conflict Studies course (University for Peace Graduate Studies). A lifelong learner, Ms. Conner has spent the past five years diving into the latest research in the Science of Reading and participating in professional development on how children learn to read.
Most recently, Ms. Conner was a Grade 1 PYP Homeroom Teacher, where she focused on inquiry-based learning, structured literacy, and collaborative teaching. She has also developed expertise in visual arts, drama, and interdisciplinary projects, and is passionate about supporting learners of all ages in ESL and early literacy development. Beyond the classroom, she has coached, mentored, and contributed to curriculum development, always learning alongside her students. Early in her career, she conducted educational research for the Ontario Ministry of Education, gaining a deep appreciation for the value of mentor-mentee relationships in supporting new teacher development.
Ms. Conner is thrilled to join the ͵ÅÄйÃÜ American Schools community as a Grade One teacher. She looks forward to building strong relationships with students and families and creating a safe, inclusive classroom where every child feels valued, inspired, and excited to learn.
