After School Swimming Winter/Spring 2025-26

Our after-school swimming sessions provide an excellent opportunity for students to develop and enhance their swimming skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Program Details:

  • Start Date: Monday, September 22
  • End Date: Friday, January 23
  • Registration Period: Οpens at 10:00 am on Tuesday September 9 and closes on Tuesday September 16

What should I bring to swimming class?

  • Swimwear. One piece or athletic swimsuit for girls; boys need to have a bathing suit that ties.
  • Towel/ Robe
  • Swimming cap
  • Goggles. Although not essential, it will make swimming a bit easier and protect your eyes from chlorinated water.
  • Flip flops for your walk from the changing rooms to the pool and back.
  • Two plastic bags: one for your wet items and one for your shoes.
  • Hat/ beanie and jacket to wear after, especially with cold weather.

* PICK UP areas: Parents must be at the parking lot waiting for their children; please be on time so that the coach escorting the students out, can return to start the next lesson.

** ONLY 6th-12th grade students can use the late buses.

Activities Fees & Deadlines:

Payment must be made by Friday, September 19, 2025, using the School Bank information.ÌýPlease include the child's name.

Registration & Cancellation Protocols

Registration during the Semester (after the start of the activities) will be allowed based on availability:

  • If registration for the activity takes place before 50% of the total number of sessions are completed, then the entire fee is required (100%).
  • If registration for the activity takes place after 50% of the total number of sessions are completed, then 50% of the fee is required.

Cancellation Policy

  • If a student wishes to withdraw from an activity before the second session, a full credit refund is given for another activity.
  • If a student wishes to withdraw from an activity after the second session and before 50% of the total sessions are completed, then the family can receive 50% of the activity fee in credit for another activity.
  • No credit will be offered If a student wishes to withdraw from an activity after 50% of the total sessions are completed (except in the case of an injury or illness resulting in absence of three weeks or more).

  • Groups are determined by the instructors according to the participants' swimming level.
  • An updated PHYSICAL EXAMINATION is required PRIOR TO the beginning of the program. There must be clearance from a dermatologist for any skin conditions.

  • Students must go directly to the swimming locker rooms at 4:30 pm.

    Description of Levels

    EARLY CHILDHOOD (JK – KG)

    Starfish – (level 1)

    Absolute beginner level with no water experience. The targets will be met through entertaining courses based on games.

    Goals:

    1. Familiarization with the water
    2. Gaining confidence in the water
    3. Proper breathing
    4. Basic rules of floating and forward movement
    5. Basic body swimming position
    6. Safety awareness

     

    BEGINNERS

    a) Sea horses (level 2)

    Prerequisites:

    1. Breath control with face underwater for 10 seconds
    2. Survival swim for 25 meters
    3. Back float for 25 meters
    4. Proper body position and kicking technique
    5. Basic freestyle drills with kickboard
    6. Basic backstroke drills with kickboard
    7. Freestyle “catch” technique
    8. Water entry by jumping into the pool safely

    b) Crabs (level 3)

    Prerequisites:

    1. Freestyle kick in streamline position with pull buoy and front breath for 25 meters
    2. Backstroke kick in streamline position for 25 meters
    3. Beginners freestyle for 10 meters (catch-up drill)
    4. Backstroke swim for 25 meters
    5. Focus on arm technique and breathing

    c) Lobsters (level 4)

    Prerequisites:

    1. Freestyle kick with breath on the side, for 25 meters (proper body position)
    2. Freestyle drill, arm transition for 25 meters (2 strokes right, 2 strokes left)
    3. Backstroke drill, arm transition for 25 meters (2 strokes right, 2 strokes left)
    4. Start with push off the wall in front and back with streamline position (glide for 5 meters)
    5. Backstroke swim for 50 meters 
    6. Freestyle swim for 15 meters

    INTERMEDIATE

    a) Swordfish (level 5)

    Prerequisites:

    1. Freestyle kicks in streamline position for 25 meters
    2. Backstroke kicks  in streamline position for 50 meters
    3. Basic freestyle drills (single arm, catch-up, 6 kicks switch)
    4. Basic backstroke drills 
    5. Underwater push of the wall in front and back streamline position

    b) Sharks (level 6)

    Prerequisites:

    1. Freestyle swim for 50 meters (breath every 3 strokes)
    2. Backstroke swim for 50 meters
    3. Breaststroke swim for 25 meters
    4. Butterfly kick for 25 meters
    5. Dive with proper entry and break out of the water
    6. Introduction to breaststroke kicks
    7. Building endurance

    c) Dolphins (level 7)

    Prerequisites:

    1. Freestyle swim for 75 meters (breath every 3 strokes)
    2. Backstroke swim for 75 meters
    3. Breaststroke swim for 50 meters
    4. Butterfly drill with correct synchronization with fins for 25 meters (2 right strokes, 2 left strokes and 1 double stroke)
    5. Introduction to butterfly 

    Emphasis on starts and streamlining

    ΑDVANCED (LEVEL 8)

    Prerequisites:

    1. Freestyle swim for 100 meters (breath every three strokes)
    2. Backstroke swim for 100 meters
    3. Breaststroke swim for 75 meters
    4. Butterfly swim for 25 meters
    5. Underwater butterfly kicking for 10 meters by pushing off

     

    SUPER ΑDVANCED (LEVEL 9)

    Prerequisites:

    1. Freestyle swim for 200 meters
    2. Backstroke swim for 150 meters
    3. Breaststroke swim for 100 meters
    4. Butterfly swim for 50 meters
    5. Individual medley swimming with qualified turns for 100 meters
    6. Diving and butterfly underwater kicking for 15 meters

    *The advancement of students to the next level is determined by the instructors' evaluations based on criteria and training goals.

    Rules and regulations

    • All swimmers must take a shower before and after swimming.
    • Diving into the pool is absolutely forbidden unless it is part of the swimming lesson.
    • Swimmers with open wounds, sores or skin infections are not permitted in the pool at any time.
    • No rough play, running or shoving, etc., in the pool area.
    • Food or drinks are not allowed in the pool area.
    • All pool equipment must be used with respect and for their intended use.
    • DRESS CODE: swimmers are required to wear a bathing cap, goggles and swim suits (no cutoffs, gym shorts / boxer shorts are allowed). Students must wear flip flops when walking into the pool area. A towel or a bathrobe is also needed.
    • We also recommend that after finishing practice, athletes should wear a warm hat or beanie,as there are limited hairdryers available in the locker rooms.

    MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Official certificates / papers from a cardiologist and a dermatologist are needed. NO SWIMMERS will be allowed to swim without providing the school with these documents.
